ABOUT
CompaRes is an academic, cultural, and artistic research society integrating scholars from the Ibero-Slavic world: Portugal and Spain (Iberian Peninsula); Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia (Western Slavs); Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, North Macedonia, Bulgaria (Southern Slavs); Belarus, Ukraine, Russia (Eastern Slavs).
MISSION
The society employs the formula “contact and comparison,” exploring academic, cultural, and artistic intersections between Iberian and Slavic worlds, traditionally seen as distant. It fosters exchanges through conferences (Iberian and Slavonic Cultures in Contact and Comparison) and the journal IberoSlavica.
This project focuses on diverse methodologies to study cultural similarities and differences, reinforcing diversity and exploring enriching encounters across disciplines.
Together, we seek shared values in an academic dialogue spanning various fields.
