KNOWLEDGE FOR FREEDOM

The 14th Ibero-Slavic International Conference invites scholars to a broad debate on the construction of freedom within Iberian and Slavic cultures.

This event aims to explore the intercultural specificity of the Knowledge that enables and is called upon for Freedom in these cultural universes from a comparative perspective.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To compare Iberian and Slavic cultural approaches to the theme of Freedom.
  2. To question Knowledge for/about Freedom across various fields: linguistic, literary, sociocultural, psychological, political, historical, philosophical, legal, and artistic.
  3. To analyze the influence of “freedom” discourses in both cultural geographies.
  4. To study the theme of Freedom in relation to contemporary economic, social, and ecological challenges.
  5. To highlight contributions of significant figures and organizations to the Freedom of Iberian and/or Slavic peoples, and analyze moments of solidarity and antagonism.
  6. We invite scholars, researchers, and practitioners to submit papers for the upcoming Ibero-Slavic Congress, which aims to explore intersections across multiple academic and cultural

fields. Possible topics of interest include Philosophy, History, Heritage, Tourism, Literature, Law, Politics, Social Sciences, Human Rights, Art, Music, Physics, Technology, Health, Hum an

Motricity, Landscape, Garden, Architecture, Image, Communication, Religions, Cinema and Photography, as well as Archives, Libraries and Publications. This multidisciplinary approach promotes dialogue between Iberian and Slavic perspectives, encouraging innovative research and intellectual exchange.

Special sessions include a Round Table and a Poetry Night dedicated to the theme of Freedom in Iberian and Slavic countries.

SUBMISSION OF PAPER AND P ANEL PROPOSALS

Submit your paper proposals to compares.eventos@gmail.com by March 31, 2025. Include:

— author’s identification

— Title of the paper

— Abstract (up to 250 words)

— 3 keywords

— Biographical note

Panel proposals (max. 5 members, including the coordinator) should also be submitted to the same email. Indicate “Paper/Panel Proposal | International Conference Knowledge for Freedom” in the email subject.

Selection Procedure: The Scientific Committee will select proposals

and notify decisions by April 7, 2025.

— Presenters: €80
